Her father David Mamet is an American film director, screenwriter, playwright, and essayist. Her mother, Lindsay Crouse, on the other hand, is a renowned actress. She officially started her acting career in the year 1994 and particularly played the role Shannon on Parallel Lives. In 1997, she appeared on big screen for the first time and got the opportunity to work with John C. McGinley and Matt McGrath on the independent film Colin Fitz Lives!. Soon after, she made a significant appearance on the 2004 film Spartan wherein she played the role Bedouin Woman. She later on gained more prominence when she was cast on the TV series The Unit, playing Christine Ross from 2006 to 2007. Presently, she plays the main role Shoshanna Shapiro on the TV series Girls alongside Lena Dunham, Allison Williams, Jemima Kirke, and the rest of the cast.

Zosia is a certified health enthusiast. She is mostly spotted on her yoga pants, regularly visiting the SoulCycle studio to perform her meditation and exercise routine.
