Born on September 26, 1987 in Atlantic Beach, Florida, Whitney Thompson is an American fashion model who became famous for being the winner of the 10th cycle of the reality TV modeling competition America’s Next Top Model. Prior to fame, she worked as a local model in northern Florida, particularly appearing on the cover of Jacksonville magazine while she was studying at Duncan U. Fletcher High School and the University of North Florida. When she joined the America’s Next Top Model, she competed against 13 other aspiring models and was selected to join and appear at the Top Model house. After winning the competition, she received a contract with CoverGirl cosmetics as well as a glimmering contract with the Elite Model Management. From 2009 to 2010, she became the face of Forever 21.

One with a “plus sized” body, Whitney believes that it’s not about the size that keeps every woman attractive. She promotes loving the body no matter what the size is. “I’m promoting Healthy Is Beautiful,” Whitney said. “It’s not a weight. It’s not a size. It’s not a number. It’s a state of mind. It’s a state of well-being.”

She added, “If men were only attracted to women who looked like Victoria Beckham, then we would all look like her. But they’re not and that’s why we are all different shapes and sizes.”
