Virginia G. Madsen is an American actress and documentary film producer. She was born on September 11, 1961 in Chicago, Illinois to parents Elaine and Calvin Madsen. She was first noticed by the audience in the year 1983 when she was cast on the comedy film Class alongside Jacqueline Bisset and Rob Lowe. A year after, she was highlighted in one of the episodes of the TV series American Playhouse by which she particularly played the role Lou Ellen Purdy. She had series of role appearances afterwards, including on 2004 film Sideways, a comedy-drama flick written by Alexander Payne and Jim Taylor. The said film earned her a handful of nominations and awards. Meanwhile, she also had appearances on TV series Justice League, Justice League, Smith, Scoundrels, Hell on Wheels, Jan, and several others.
Virginia has tried different exercises, but she seems to enjoy surfing more. According to her in an interview, ”I couldn’t do it in my 20s, but I found an absolutely gorgeous guy on Maui who said, ‘I can teach you how. This time I was defiant, and I learned.”
Other than surfing, she’s also a fan of Yoga. For her, it’s a great form of meditation. ”If I’m motivated, Yoga. If I’m not, All My Children. I’m missing it right now, but Ive got it on TiVo,” she said.
