tori amos 180709American singer, songwriter, pianist, and composer Tori Amos was born Myra Ellen Amos on August 22, 1963 in Newton, North Carolina to parents Mary Ellen and Rev. Dr. Edison McKinley Amos. In 1977, her pursuit to her singing career started when she joined and won a county teen talent contest, particularly a singing contest called “More Than Just a Friend”. It was in the year 1986 when she built a music group called Y Kant Tori Read. Soon after, she was able to land a singing contract and signed with Atlantic Records. The first album that came with her signature style was called Little Earthquakes. After 15 years with the Atlantic Records, she signed with Epic Records and released the album Scarlet’s Walk. Throughout her career, she was branded as “The 90s’ most essential musician besides Kurt Cobain” and “The wizard queen of alternative rock.

The secret towards her slim figure according to Tori is just a balanced diet. “I was overly stressed, the thinnest I’ve been, eating in an extreme way,” she said in one of her interviews. “Guilty while eating and after. But now I’m at a normal size, I feel that if you’re not enjoying your food in a balanced way, then why are you living?”

She also shared that she basically doesn’t cook her meals. “There are caterers, and my husband cooks. But a few years ago, when my husband was off working, I did try getting into grilling, but I stopped after I had my feelings hurt. Someone said the salmon I grilled looked like it had acne,” she explained.
