Toni Collette, originally Antonia Collette, is an Australian actress and musician. She was born on November 1, 1972 in Blacktown, Western Sydney, Australia to parents Judy and Bob Collette. A student of Blacktown Girls’ High School until 16, she grew up with a huge interest in acting that’s why she decided to attend drama school at Australian Theatre for Young People as well as at National Institute of Dramatic Art. Successfully entering the world of show business, she made her acting debut in the year 1990, particularly playing a significant role on the TV series A Country Practice. During her first few appearances, she already garnered several awards from Australian Film Institute. This led her to becoming prominent in the industry. From 2009 to 2011, she became part of the TV series United States of Tara wherein she played the role Tara Gregson.
Toni is a big fan of exercises such as Pilates. According to her, she enjoys doing it. “It doesn’t feel like punishment,” Toni explained in one of her interviews. “But feels like it’s good for me, and I actually enjoy it. So I’ve kind of made it more of a part of my everyday life and I eat really well. I work out, do cardio, like 45 minutes a day, and I have a trainer.”
Now when it comes to her diet, she is noted to be practicing a macrobiotic diet, a kind of diet that involves consuming all-natural whole foods. In addition, she loves to consume protein drinks during dinner and she’s very determined to stick to her diet rules which are to avoid eating wheat, dairy foods, and foods loaded with sugar. Wow, that’s an extreme discipline!
