Tara Leann Stiles is an American model turned yoga instructor and founder of Strala Yoga in New York City. She was born on May 6, 1981 in Morris, Illinois, United States. She became highly recognized in the year 2007 when she was highlighted in Yoga For, the first instructional online Yoga video series which was produced by Ford Models. She was also one of the first YouTube users to upload and gain lots of followers.
So when did she start to have the passion for Yoga? According to Tara in one f her interviews, “When I was at high school studying ballet I was introduced to Yoga and loved it, but I never saw it as a way to make a living. It was just something I was really passionate about.”
She added, “I started Strala because I wanted to make Yoga available to regular people who may feel intimidated by other studios. The instructions are accessible and not preachy – it was always about making the process fun, lighthearted and inclusive. There’s contemporary music and I describe all the poses in English, making it more about the process instead of just achieving the goal.”
