He was born on May 13, 1964 in Washington, D.C., United States. The husband of Evelyn McGee-Colbert, he started to become prominent in 1995 when he had appearances on the TV show Exit 57. He soon became more prominent when he was highlighted on Saturday Night Live from 1996 to 2011. Lately, he became part of BoJack Horseman, voicing the character Mr. Witherspoon. He continues to be a prominent comedy icon these days.

Steven is a very health-conscious person. In fact, he does some exercises regularly. These exercises include running. He usually runs in the morning for at least 30 minutes. Another exercise he usually indulge is walking on a treadmill.
