Samantha Jane Stosur, better known as Sam Stosur, is an Australian professional tennis player. She was born on March 30, 1984 in Brisbane, Australia. A former World No. 1 in doubles, she is also a former World No. 4 in singles. During the 2011 U.S. Open, she won and defeated Serena Williams in the final which made her become the first Australian woman to win a Grand Slam singles tournament since Evonne Goolagong Cawley.
When it comes to keeping her body fit and strong, here’s what she revealed in an interview: “I actually love working out and don’t see it as a chore at all. Even on my off days, I usually like to do some exercise, even if that means just going for a walk or a light bike ride. I don’t really enjoy sitting around the house too much so I am always eager to go out and explore.”
As for her diet, she said, “I pretty much eat anything and everything. As a professional tennis player, I’m required to travel around the world for my job which means that I need to be pretty flexible and open to trying unfamiliar foods. Because of this, my tastes have grown and I’ll pretty much eat anything. At tournaments, you need to be more careful about what you are eating because you are fueling your body to compete. I usually have a balanced meal of pasta, chicken or some sort of meat, and salad as pre-match food.”
