Samuel George Claflin, better known as Sam Claflin, is an English TV and film actor. He was born on 27th of June, 1986 in Ipswich, England to parents Mark and Sue. Prior to developing an interest in acting, Sam used to play football during his childhood but suddenly decided to stop when he broke his ankle from an injury. His interest was diverted to acting when his parents encouraged him to indulge in it. He started appearing on screen in the year 2010 when he was highlighted in such TV programs such as The Pillars of the Earth and Any Human Heart. Following his success on his first TV appearances, Sam earned more acting opportunities and eventually landed a significant role in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides that gave him his breakthrough. Meanwhile, he is currently known in his best role up to date–the Finnick Odair character in the popular film series The Hunger Games.
Prior to filming the Hunger Games, Sam’s overall physique used to be plain and without any abs or muscles appearing yet. However, when we got to see him on the big screen, he suddenly transformed into a Greek God-like feature with chiseled muscles already well-developed. How did he do it? Well, according to the actor, he really did a lot of workout in the gym and indulged in a rigid training regimen for at least five hours a day in three months. Whoa! Now, that’s a lot of work! He also shares that he’s drinking protein shakes and consuming protein-rich foods to help him build more muscles. Well, as we can see it, his effort seems to pay him off.
