Ahmir Khalib Thompson, better known as Questlove, is an American drummer, DJ, record producer, and music journalist. He was born on January 20, 1971 in Philadelphia to parents Lee Andrews and Jacquelin Thompson. Because he was seen as someone who has a great enthusiasm in music, his parents enrolled him at Philadelphia High School for the Creative and Performing Arts.
After graduating, he created a band called The Square Roots alongside his friend Tariq Trotter. Soon after, he was seen performing and showcasing his talent in playing drums. It was in 1999 when his band experienced breakthrough, particularly owning success because of its popular track “You Got Me”. Nowadays, he continues to be successful in the music industry.
Questlove is known to be a certified vegan. Yes, you’ve read it right! For over years, he actually became more and more serious with this kind of healthy diet. According to him, he keeps up with a goal, and that is, to be the first man on the hip hop generation to live past 60 years old. Wow, that is such a nice goal there, Questlove! He’s such an inspiration, isn’t he?
