Nelly, originally Cornell Iral Haynes, Jr, was born on November 2, 1974 in Austin, Texas, United States. He is an American rapper, singer, songwriter, entrepreneur, investor, and occasional actor. It was in 1999 when he signed to Universal Records. He started his career in 2000 and since then, he became successful in the field he’d chosen. Some of his popular songs include “Dilemma”, “Just a Dream,” Ride Wit Me”, “Hot In Here”, and many others.
Nelly is a workout enthusiast. Here’s what he shared when he was interviewed by Men’s Health “See, someone else will always gain in my line of work. If I gain, someone else does, too. The only thing that truly helps me is working out, because it’s personal. It’s the only thing I have that’s only mine— just going out, staying active, playing ball, relaxing my mind. It’s about the discipline, that you can make yourself do something. That’s what we all have to get inside our minds.
He added, “Like I said, I like total control. If I’m going to make myself get up every morning for the next month and play hoops for an hour and lift weights for an hour and a half, then I’m going to do it. If I can make myself do that, I can make myself do anything.”
