Matt Shirvington is an Australian athlete and television presenter who held the Australian 100m national sprint title from 1998 to 2002. Born on October 25, 1978 in Sydney, Australia, he is known as the fastest 2nd Australian sprinter of all time. Throughout his sports career, he generally competed in the 100m, 200m, and 4 x 100m relay events, finding the most success in the 100m sprint. He even claimed 5 consecutive Australian national titles for the 100 m sprint event in the year 1998. These days, he is regarded as one of the successful athletes in Australia.
When it comes to his fitness and well-being, here’s what Matt said in an interview: “I actually feel healthier now that I’m retired from athletics. My body is not in as good shape but the amount of training I used to do ran me into the ground– my body fat was so low I had little defence against illness, and I never had time to properly recuperate. My life is a lot more balanced now.”
He also said he exercises at least five times a week. “I exercise at least five times a week,” he said. “I mix it up with a combination of mountain biking, surfing, weights and a bit of running.”
