Born on February 8, 1953 in Newport, Arkansas, Mary Nell Steenburgen is an American actress. She is the daughter of Nellie Mae and Maurice Steenburgen. In 1972, she relocated to Manhattan to attend school at New York’s Neighborhood Playhouse. While studying, she worked at the Magic Pan as a waitress as well as in the publishing company Doubleday. Her life changed when she was discovered by Jack Nicholson when they met at the reception room of Paramount’s New York office. The first role that was given to her was in Jack Nicholson’s western-comedy film Goin’ South which was aired in 1978. The said film gave her the opportunity to work with him and renowned actors Christopher Lloyd and John Belushi. What even made her become prominent was when she was nominated for the Golden Globe Award for New Star of the Year – Actress because of her notable appearance on the said film. Nowadays, she is considered as one of the most successful actresses in Hollywood. She is currently filming the movie A Walk in the Woods which will be aired next year.
At 61, Mary still has the attractive figure thanks to her dedication to workout. So, what’s her workout routine all about? Well, according to the veteran actress, “I force myself to swim or work out with weights. I walk some too, but even that’s boring. I’d so prefer to stay in bed – mornings are delicious.”
