American actress, model, artist, and occasional film producer and director Lucy Liu was born in Jackson Heights, Queens, New York, United States on December 2, 1968 to Cecilia and Tom Liu who were both immigrants from Beijing and Shanghai. She made her film debut as she appeared in the movie Jerry Maguire starring Tom Cruise.
