Lu Parker was born on April 16, 1970 in Anderson, South Carolina, United States. She is an American actress, journalist, and beauty pageant titleholder who won Miss USA 1994. A product of College of Charleston, she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. She later on studied at The Citadel to attain a Masters of Art in Education. After completing her studies, she taught English Literature at North Charleston High School.
During the time when Lu was still participating the beauty pageant, she already had a penchant for cupcakes. According to her, controlling her urge to eat sweets– especially cupcakes, was a real challenge. “It was never easy,” she told Shape. “I had worked hard at my goals and training. It was for sure a motivator for me when I wanted to break my diet. I would remind myself, ‘Lu you will soon be on stage in front of millions of people in a bikini. Do you really want that cupcake?”
However, she tried so hard to stick to her workout routine and settled for a strict diet. It paid off somehow, because even up to these days, her beautiful figure is still very apparent.
