Lleyton Hewitt - celebhealthy_comAustralian-born professional tennis player Lleyton Glynn Hewitt was born on February 24, 1981 in Adelaide, Australia to parents Glynn Hewitt and Cherilyn Hewitt. The husband of Bec Hewitt, he was 20 years old when he was heralded as the youngest male ever to be ranked No. 1 in the world in singles. Throughout his career, he became remarkable for winning the 2000 US Open men’s doubles title, US Open in 2001, and 2002 Wimbledon men’s singles titles. These days, he continues to reign in competitions.

In one of his interviews, Lleyton shared how he manages to stay fit. Here’s what he shared about his typical fitness routine: “I spend four hours on court training, hitting hard. It depends if I’m not playing a tournament. I’d probably have two sessions of two-and-a-half hours, and another one-and-a-half-hour session in the morning or after lunch. In the gym it’s another two hours or so. Gym work may consist of bike riding, running, and weights, swimming as well. There’s also a massage and stretching, ice baths and all that as you recover.”

For his diet, he said, “My diet is pretty good. As you get older, though, you have to work on it. Mine is pretty balanced. I do take quite a lot of supplements, which is fantastic for me, having worked with Swisse for the last few years. Recovery is such an important part for me, so we’ve been able to work on the protein powders for after my matches and practice, and the protein bars and electrolyte drinks during my matches. I also find that looking after my immune system is big, especially when you have events where you fly in and out, and it’s easy to catch the common cold.”
