He was born on November 19, 1933 in Brooklyn, New York City, New York, United States. He is known for his work which has been recognized with awards such as two Peabodys and 10 Cable ACE Awards. The husband of Shawn King, he is also the proud father of children namely Cannon Edward King, Andy King, Chance Armstrong King,Chaia King, and Larry King. He started as a local Florida journalist and radio interviewer in the 1950s and 1960s. Later on he became prominent as an all-night national radio broadcaster starting in 1978.

Larry is known to be physically active, which explains why even at the age of 81, he’s still strong and healthy. According to him in an interview, “All movement, whether it’s dancing, swimming, or walking, helps health. People don’t think of it, but when you go out dancing, you’re helping yourself. And you have fun.” In addition, he said, “I like swing, a lot of the Latin dances, and I like to dance to Sinatra. I like dancing where you touch the other person, where we can sway.”

When it comes to diet, the radio host is noted to be a fan of veggies, fruits, and lean meats. He also doesn’t eat something that is not of his liking. “I won’t eat anything I don’t like, and I won’t eat bland food,” he confided.
