American actress Kyra Minturn Sedgwick was born on August 19, 1965 in New York City to parents Patricia and Henry Dwight Sedgwick. She graduated from the University of Southern California with a degree in theater. She began her acting career in the year 1982 when she was 16 years old, particularly playing the role Julia Shearer on the TV series Another World. Soon after, she was cast on the 1985 film War and Love where she played the role Halina. She then appeared in a number of films including Born on the Fourth of July, Mr. and Mrs. Bridge, Phenomenon, What’s Cooking?, Behind the Red Door, Man on a Ledge, The Possession, and several others. Becoming more prominent in the industry, she’s also famous for her role Brenda Leigh Johnson on the TV series The Closer.

During Kyra’s interview with WebMD, she shared that she’s very passionate about exercising. “It’s like a Sedgwick thing. Sedgwicks for centuries have either been exercise addicts, or they kill themselves,” the actress said.

Yoga, dancing, biking, and running are few of the exercises that she usually indulges. In addition, she practices balanced and healthy diet and even integrates this practice to her family.
