Kerry Marisa Washington is an American actress, born on January 31, 1977 in The Bronx, New York City. She is the daughter of Valerie and Earl Washington. She studied acting at Michael Howard Studios in New York City. In the year 2007, she joined other celebrities in for the year’s Lee National Denim Day to support the Women’s Cancer Programs of the Entertainment Industry Foundation. In the year 1994, she appeared in “ABC Afterschool Special”, and later appeared in other films and televisions shows, including “Ray” (2004); “The Last King of Scotland” (2006); “Fantastic Four” and “Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer”, where she portrayed the role of Alicia Masters. She also played the main role as Olivia Pope in television series “Scandal” (2012-present), where she gained wide public recognition and received nominations for various awards.
To keep her stay in shape, Kerry Washington takes some dance classes, as well as Pilates and Gyrotonic workouts. She also uses the elliptical machine and spends some time hiking.
Successfully won over bulimia, she now focuses on eating healthy sets of foods such as vegetables and fruits, sushi, lean protein, and other natural and organic foods that contain essential nutrients needed by her body. She also considers coconut water as one of her favorite beverages; she said in one of her interviews, “I am not a vegan, but I like vegan protein shakes. I mix them with coconut water instead of regular water. That’s my secret to having them taste better.”
