Kara Louise Tointon is an English actress born on August 5, 1983 in Basildon, Essex, England to parents Ken and Carol. She had her first acting appearance during the time when she played the role Brigitta in musical production The Sound of Music which was held at the Cliffs Pavilion. In 1994, she started to appear on screen, playing extra role in the EastEnders. Few years after, she had another appearance which was in the British TV series Dream Team where she played the role Gina Moliano. She was then cast in another British TV series which was known as Teachers and played the role Pauline Young in eight episodes. It was in the year 2005 when she landed her big break, appearing in EastEnders but this time, it was for the major role Dawn Swann. Nowadays, Kara appears in the British TV drama series Mr Selfridge and plays the role Rosalie.
In one of her interviews, Kara shared that dancing is her main workout regimen. And here’s what she said, “I’ve always loved dancing as a fitness exercise program, but until now, it’s been on my own. It was a real lesson in sexual confidence. Now I want to learn the moves and I’ve found a local dance studio which does pole-dancing classes. I’m even going to buy a pole! Not only do you get a great fitness training exercise out of it but you also gain confidence in your figure, and that’s incredibly sexy.”
She also added that she’s not into gym. “I don’t necessarily enjoy going to the gym as a fitness exercise program and I’m certainly not obsessive about it but if I’ve gone a couple of weeks without fitness exercise I get agitated.”
And any weight loss tip we can get from her? “Weight loss? Just definitely the old-fashioned drinking loads of water. When I don’t drink water my skin goes really bad so I normally drink a big bottle everyday if I can. It’s a really great weight loss help,” she explained.
