Joyce Anne DeWitt is an American actress. She was born on April 23, 1949 in Wheeling, West Virginia. Known to be of Italian descent, she attended school at Indiana High School Forensic Association and headed to Ball State University, earning a bachelor’s degree in theater. She was first featured on screen in the year 1975 when she was cast on Baretta, a detective TV series which was aired from 1975 to 1978.
The following year, she was again hired to play a particular role, which was on Most Wanted. Earning her breakthrough, she further gained prominence when she appeared as Janet Wood / Dawson on Three’s Company from 1977 to 1984. She was soon cast on TV programs Supertrain, The Love Boat, The B.B. Beegle Show, Steve Martin: Comedy Is Not Pretty, and several others. Her recent screen appearance was on the 2009 film Call of the Wild where she acted as Jolene.
At 65, the veteran actress is still looking healthy. Her secrets? Well, according to a source, she’s doing exercises regularly and she’s following a Suzanne Somers diet program. Suzanne, by the way, is the author of the book Sexy Forever: How to Fight Fat after Forty and is known to be an actress and a friend of Joyce’s.
