Jason Jordan Segel was born on January 18, 1980 in Los Angeles, California, USA to Jillian and Alvin G. Segel. He is an American actor, comedian, and screenwriter. Growing up tall, he was once a basketball player when he was studying at Harvard-Westlake School. Wanting to be an actor, he eventually pursued his calling and was able to land his first screen appearance in 1998 by appearing for a minor role in the film Can’t Hardly Wait which starred Jennifer Love Hewitt and Ethan Embry. The same year, he was cast in the movie Dead Man on Campus as well as in SLC Punk!.
In 1999, he was highlighted in the teen comedy drama TV series Freaks and Geeks where he played the role Nick Andopolis. He also starred on other TV series such as Undeclared, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, and How I Met Your Mother. In 2011, he voiced the role Gary in The Muppets and became more prominent when he received Chicago Film Critics Association Awards Lifetime Achievement Award and Critics Choice Award for Best Song for The Muppets.
Jason once had an overweight body, but he was able to deal with it and transform it into a lean and healthy one by doing some lifestyle changes. This is what he shared during his interview with Us Weekly:
“I’ve just been living healthy, exercising, eating right—no more midnight pizzas. This time when I take my shirt off, I’ve made a promise to myself, it doesn’t have to be funny.”
