Born on May 27, 1975 in Clavering, United Kingdom, James Trevor Oliver, MBE, better known as Jamie Oliver, is an English celebrity chef, restaurateur, and media personality famous for his food-focused TV shows, cookbooks, and his global campaign for better food education. The husband of Juliette Norton, Jamie’s first job was a pastry chef at Antonio Carluccio’s Neal’s Yard restaurant where he learned how to specialize in Italian cuisine. It was in 1999 when he started to appear on the TV show The Naked Chef. Since then, he was constantly seen on various cooking shows.
Jamie shared in his website some of his diet tips. One of these is to consume a balanced diet that contains each of the food groups in the correct proportions. He also stated, “Fill your diet with a wide range of fruits, vegetables, lean meats, fish, eggs, pulses, nuts, seeds, wholegrains and naturally low fat dairy foods. When it comes to fruit and veg, different colours provide your body with the different nutrients it needs to stay strong and healthy– it’s not just greens that are good for you!”
Another tip he emphasized is to never skip the most important meal of the day: breakfast. “Breakfast kick-starts your metabolism and helps you to be alert and awake throughout the day. Make sure you always eat a nutritious breakfast. Make it wholesome and make it count,” he advised.
