So what is his training regime? When he was interviewed by Body and Soul Australia, he explained, “It may not be as much as other teams but we have a big emphasis on recovery and quality of training. My coach is very new age and focuses on more than just general fitness. After my success I think he’ll be a pioneer with this style of coaching. After my trials some people said I was as good as I could get, but we worked to improve my form even more. His attitude is there’s always room for improvement and you should never rest on your laurels.”

For his diet, he said, “I wake up early for training, have a snack, then after training I have a big brekkie with cereal, toast and a protein shake. Lunch is usually a can of baked beans and a few slices of bread. I have lots of protein shakes and snacks through the day and dinner is usually meat, pasta and vegies. I try to stay healthy and not eat chocolate.”
