Idrissa Akuna Elba, professionally known as Idris Elba, is a British actor, producer, singer, rapper, and DJ. He was born on September 6, 1972 in London Borough of Hackney, United Kingdom. Famous for his role Russell “Stringer” Bell in the HBO series The Wire, he also made his name well-recognized for his role Detective John Luther in the BBC One series Luther. He was also featured on the biographical film Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom.
Idris is one health-enthusiast guy. In one of his interviews, he said, “I try to fit in workouts whenever I can. That might mean 45 minutes of jogging in the a.m., or pushups and situps—100 each at a time—or swimming: It works every muscle in your body.”
