Heather Blaine Mitts Feeley, née Heather Blaine Mitts, is an American former professional soccer defender. She was born on June 9, 1978 in Cincinnati, Ohio, United States. She is known to be one of the members of the college soccer team for the University of Florida. She also played professionally in the Women’s Professional Soccer (WPS) league as well as for the Philadelphia Charge, Boston Breakers, Philadelphia Independence, and Atlanta Beat.
Now what is Heather’s exercise routine? Here’s what she shared in an interview: “We train 11 months out of the year. If we’re with the national team, we typically lift twice a week. Plus, I’m out there practicing once or twice a day, six days a week, usually taking one day off. Practices run for about two hours— we get a really short time to warm up, and then the rest of the time, it’s just intense, especially with the national team. It’s a lot of running, a lot of change of direction and really intense cardio. When I’m on the road, I pack my TRX, which is a super lightweight, portable suspension training tool. I’ve had a lot of injuries, so it helps me work on my injury recovery, plus my core stability, which is great to prevent injuries. It’s great for travel, because it’s all body weight exercises, and you can never do too much of that.”
Now when it comes to diet, she said, “I’m really healthy, and I’ve actually become even more healthy over the past couple of years. I eat a lot of vegetables, greens and fruit. I eat egg whites almost every morning along with steel-cut oats, some fruit and a cup of green tea. For lunch, I eat a salad with some protein, and the same thing for dinner. I’m not a huge snacker, but it’s usually a piece of fruit or some almonds. I definitely watch what I eat, but I eat a lot.”
