American television and film actress Ginnifer Goodwin, was born Jennifer Michelle Goodwin on May 22, 1978 in Memphis, Tennessee, to Linda and Tim Goodwin. She changed her name from “Jennifer” to “Ginnifer” to distinguish, and aid in pronouncing her name in her regional dialect. She was raised attending synagogue on Saturdays and Unitarian church on Sundays. She made her first short film in 2000 entitled, “Zelda: An Extrospective Journey”. She is best known as Margene Heffman in 2006-2011 television series “Big Love”, and for her roles as Connie Baker in “Mona Lisa Smile” (2003); Gigi in “He’s Just Not That Into You” (2009); and Rachel in “Something Borrowed” (2011). Currently, she is playing the role of Mary Margaret Blanchard/ Snow White in the television series, “One Upon a Time”, where she received various nominations.
To help balance her diet, Ginnifer goes to ballet classes and do some cardio workouts. She also power walks; she said, “I’ll speed-walk a couple of miles, get a cup of coffee, speed-walk back. It’s so easy. Just break a sweat for 30 minutes and you’re fine.”
Ginnifer is a member of Weight Watchers for more than 20 years, where she credits her realistic ways of maintaining healthy weight. She said in an interview, “It takes time because you lose the weight slowly . . . You don’t have to go through that horrible yo-yo cycle of binging.” She tries to balance her diet and not deprive herself with what she wants. She was a vegan at some point in her life, but due to some health issues, she had to make some adjustments. She said, “I’m always learning and growing and changing and there were some boring health issues, and so I did actually have to work some animal products back into my diet.”
