Fernando Verdasco - celebhealthy_comFernando Verdasco Carmona is a Spanish professional tennis player. He was born on November 15, 1983 in Madrid, Spain to parents José Verdasco and Olga Carmona. His career-high singles ranking is world no. 7, attained in April 2009. He began playing tennis when he was four years old. He had a full-time coach when he was eight. He started his professional sports career in the year 2002, gaining attention as he  finished as World No. 464.

Because he is a tennis star, of course he’s a very active person. Apart from that, he regularly performs gruelling workouts. “Tennis is a sport that’s very complete,” he told Details. “You need to work every part of your body, so my routine changes— an hour running or on the bike or elliptical. For strength, I use everything: body weight, kettlebells, every machine in the gym. I’ll do 500 crunches, 200 push-ups, 50 chin-ups.”

When it comes to diet, he doesn’t much think about following a strict diet because according to him, “I’m lucky that I have a very good metabolism. When I was 22, I ate whatever I wanted. I could have burgers four days a week and not gain one kilo. In the last couple of years, though, I’ve taken much better care of my diet.”

He continued, “Breakfast is between 8:30 and 9— normally Special K with skim milk, fruit, and toast with ham or turkey. Then I go to practice. When I don’t have a tournament, I’m on the court two to five hours a day, six days a week. Then I work out for another two hours, either at Reebok Sports Club La Finca in Madrid or at the hotel gym when traveling.”
