American former competition swimmer Dara Torres was born on April 15, 1967 in Beverly Hills, California, United States. A twelve-time Olympic medalist and former world record-holder in three events, Dara is known as the first and only swimmer to represent the United States in five Olympic Games, particularly in 1984, 1988, 1992, 2000, and 2008. She also earned twelve Olympic medals which consists of four gold, four silver, and four bronze.
When it comes to keeping her body in full condition and in a great shape, Dara is maintaining a workout routine. She told Glamour, “Well I can’t run right now because I have knee problems, but that’s usually the first thing I would do– I’d put on my headphones and just run. I love running. Unfortunately I can’t do it anymore, probably not for the rest of my life; and so I have a road bike that I ride down in Florida. I have a spin bike in my house. I probably have to even limit that. I probably have to do the elliptical where your feet are flat and go light on the knee until I can get it fixed.”
As for her diet, here’s what she shared about her normal breakfast: “I have a shake called Living Fuel. It’s basically a meal replacement shake. You’re supposed to have it with water, but I have it with milk. I have it with usually one percent, but if I’m really hungry, then I’ll add whole milk. And you can also put in fruit. But it’s basically got every vitamin and nutrient you could possibly want in a meal. I feel like if I have that, then I feel pretty good about what I eat for the rest of the day. I have it before a swim in the mornings, when I train, I have it before my meets….”
