Born in Walnut Creek, California on January 2, 1969, American model Christy Turlington is the middle child of parents Dwain Turlington and María Elizabeth. Prior to fame, she was discovered by a local photographer named Dennie Cody while she was in Miami and was riding horses. When she was 14, she started modeling while she was studying. Years later, she relocated to New York City to work as a model for full-time. Though she embraced the life of a model, she did not disregard her studies as she graduated cum laude from Gallatin School of Individualized Study of New York University in 1999. The stunning model soon graced over 500 magazine covers–which made her insanely popular during that time. In 2008, she became one of the models who were featured in V magazine. Apart from being a model, she also has a good and humble heart. She is known to be a part of the international humanitarian organization CARE (Cooperative for Assistance and Relief Everywhere).
Part of being a model is of course, making it certain that you are in tip-top shape. Christy does her part by keeping her body active most of the time. She performs Yoga regularly. In fact, during her pregnancies, she depended on this form of exercise to strengthen her bones and to keep her blood circulation in normal condition. Apart from Yoga, she also does Pilates at least once a week.
Once a vegetarian and as a person involved in animal rights, Christy made it a point that she’s not eating any kind of meat. She prefers to consume veggies and organic foods. These days, her diet focuses more on a healthy and balanced one.
