Christine Ellen Hynde was born on September 7, 1951 in Akron, Ohio. She is an American musician famous for being the leader of the rock band “The Pretenders”. She started her career in 1978 when she made a demo tape which she submitted to Dave Hill from the Real Records. It was the start of her involvement with “The Pretenders” which name was inspired from the song “The Great Pretender” by Sam Cooke. Since then, she became a prominent rock star in the industry.
So how does she keep a healthy body? According to her in an interview, she’s not much into gym. She’s more into Yoga. “I can’t get with the gym. I don’t like the music and I’m not big on group events,” she said. “For the past 16 years I’ve done Yoga in the privacy of my room. It’s a modified Ashtanga Yoga.”
In addition, she always makes sure that she has time for relaxation. “I spend a lot of time alone, and can be very meditative,” she said. “In fact, if you were a fly on the wall, you might think I had slipped into a coma. One of my great pleasures in life is reading in public spaces, which, unfortunately, is becoming more and more difficult to do. I mean, who really wants to listen to Tina Turner at 8 AM when you are trying to relax with a book? I avoid loud music at all costs and try to take earplugs wherever I go.”
