A son of Julie Ann Rohs von Brecht and William Charles O’Donnell, Sr., he started to appear on screen when he auditioned and was hired to portray a role in a McDonald’s ad. He then had his acting debut in the year 1986, portraying the role Evan in an episode of Jack and Mike. Two years after, he was cast on Men Don’t Leave and particularly played the role Chris Macauley. After his successful first appearances, series of acting opportunities came through him and some of these were in films Scent of a Woman, The Three Musketeers, Batman & Robin, Cookie’s Fortune, The Bachelor, Vertical Limit, 29 Palms, The Sisters, and many others. Presently, he appears on the medical TV series NCIS: Los Angeles and plays the role G. Callen.

Chris is a regular visitor of the gym. Usually he spends time doing warm-up exercises like light stretching, stretch band rotations, and core work with a gym ball before getting into his main workout which include chest press, medicine ball throw, cable row, press-up, triceps dip, leg curl, single-leg press, barbell curl, and bodyweight squat. He also does cardio exercises before finally going into warm-down exercises.

Moreover, he said he’s big on Yoga. “Yoga is the greatest thing for it. For me, two days a week of traditional cardio and weightlifting, plus one day of yoga — that’s the perfect way to take care of my back and my body,” he shared during his interview with WebMD.
