Chris Daughtry - CelebHealthy_comChristopher Adam Daughtry, better known as Chris Daughtry, is an American singer and musician born on December 26, 1979 in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina, USA to parents Sandra and James Daughtry. While growing up, Chris was already inclined to singing and music. At 16 he had his guitar lesson from Matt Jagger, a guitarist from the Blues Rock. During local events on their school, he didn’t fail to participate performing with rock bands. He also had appearances in musical productions such as Peter Pan and The Wiz. His talent was fully discovered in 2002 when he joined and became the finalist for the reality talent show American Idol season 5.

It was quite noticeable how Chris gained weight a couple of years ago. He says it was because of his unhealthy lifestyle. In one of his interviews, he says, “You start drinking a ton of beer, eating pizza and whatever else is in front of you, and you kind of just do that everyday cycle. And after a while you’re just so unmotivated to do anything. I gained 25 pounds and I didn’t realize it until I saw photos myself and I went, ‘Oh my gosh, I can’t even see my jawline. Who is that guy?” That was the time when he started to make a change in his lifestyle. And this is what he told the PEOPLE:

“I stopped eating late at night, which is hard. When you’re on tour, you’re up late, and it’s tempting to eat, so I have to avoid it. When I’m on tour, I get exercise on stage but on off days, I have to do circuit training or cardio. It takes a lot of work, but nothing about staying in shape is easy.”
