Belinda Bencic was born on March 10, 1997 in Flawil, Switzerland. She is a Swiss tennis player. Just recently, she reached her best singles ranking of world number 31. She was four years old when she started playing tennis, learning at Melanie Molitor’s tennis school and training with Molitor on a daily basis. In 2012, she experienced her debut, winning two back-to-back G18 ITF tournaments in the Czech Republic during the season.
What kind of training does Belinda usually experience whenever she prepares for a competition? Here’s what she said in one of her interviews regarding her current training: “I’m currently doing interval training on the track with 100 meter sprints down the straights and jogging round the corners. It tires me out quickly but I’m getting better at it. I’ve been working on footwork, which is really important for me, as on the court you have to move well. I use a ladder. I place the ladder on the floor and use it to do a number of footwork drills in and out to help my agility.”
She emphasized that drinking lots of water is also a must. “Training and playing in hot climates mean staying hydrated is critical,” said the tennis star. “I drink a lot of water but also sports drinks with electrolytes to help with recovery and replenishment.”
