Amy Lyn Acuff is an American track and field athlete born on July 14, 1975 in Port Arthur, Texas. She is famous for being a Universiade champion at the age of 22. In 1992, she joined the World Junior Championships which was held in Seoul, South Korea. She ended up the 9th place in the said competition. Two years later, she joined the World Junior Championships once again, progressing as the 3rd place. The said competition was held in Lisbon, Portugal. Not wanting to give up, she reached the first place when she joined the World University Games in the year 1996. She had series of other competitions which include the Olympic Games in Athens in 2004, IAAF World Athletics Final in Monaco, World Championships in Berlin, Germany in 2009, and several others. Her recent competition was in 2012 when she participated the Olympic Games in London and got the 20th place.
As an athlete, it is no surprise how fit and healthy Amy is. Every day, she usually lets her body move by running and doing lots of exercises.
She’s also a healthy eater. According to her, she increases her protein intake so as to gain muscles. “I need a lot of protein to repair my muscles after jumping,” she explained in an interview. “I usually have a blueberry smoothie after practice followed by chicken or beef. I make sure to get plenty of good fats from avocados, nuts and fish oil.”
