Amelia Vega, originally Amelia Vega Polancio, was born on November 7, 1984 in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. She is known as a Dominican musician, model, and a beauty queen famous for her title as the Miss Universe 2003. She is the daughter of Otto Vega and Patricia Polanco Álvarez. Eventually after bagging the Miss Dominican Republic crown, she flew to Panama to represent her country for the Miss Universe 2003. The prestigious pageant made her become notable for she was the first woman in Dominican Republic to conquer the Miss Universe crown. After winning the title, she traveled to different countries as part of her duty. While traveling, she lectured and got other people involved in awareness about HIV/AIDS. After her reign, she focused on modeling as she appeared on several magazines and ads.
When it comes to staying fit, the Miss Universe 2003 regularly keeps an active lifestyle by involving herself in Yoga, dancing, cardio exercises, and bike riding.
Not only does she exercise. She also keeps an eye on her diet. She usually eats organic foods and consumes cereals with organic fat free milk every morning. During lunch time, she eats foods with reasonable amount of carbohydrates and protein while she eats more on protein-rich foods for dinner.
