Tyler Perry was born Emmitt Perry, Jr. in New Orleans, Louisiana on September 13, 1969. The son of Willie Maxine Perry and and Emmitt Perry, Sr., he is a renowned American actor, screenwriter, director, producer, author, songwriter, and playwright. Prior to portraying roles on screen, he used to act on stage plays and productions. One of these was his 1999 role portrayal on the production I Know I’ve Been Changed where he acted as Joe. In 2005, he appeared on big screen for the first time, particularly on the film Diary of a Mad Black Woman. The following year, he had his own sitcom which was called Tyler Perry’s House of Payne. Since then, he appeared on several films and TV series as an actor and eventually delved into directing and screenwriting afterwards.
In his interview with Today Show, Tyler revealed that he attained his toned and ripped physique through Krav Maga training. “When I started doing the movie, I did Krav Maga,” Tyler said. “I really got into it, dropping a lot of weight. It’s Israeli fighting, mixed-martial arts, really great. It’s a kick a** workout.”
In addition, the actor also includes circuit-training in his workout program, as well cardio exercises, cable work, free-weight, and body-weight moves.
