She was born on November 26, 1939 in Nutbush, Tennessee to parents Zelma Priscilla and Floyd Richard Bullock. During her childhood days, Tina used to perform at their church together with the choir of Nutbush’s Spring Hill Baptist Church. Growing up, her first step into performing was when she joined Ike Turner’s band in night clubs of St. Louis and East St. Louis. In 1960, she became prominent when her song “A Fool in Love” hit the music chart, particularly number 2 on the Hot R&B Sides chart and number 27 on the Billboard Hot 100. She also became more popular with her song “River Deep – Mountain High” which was released in 1965. Throughout the years since she started her career, her name became really sensational that even nowadays, she is still labeled as one of the best singers in the world.

At 74, the singing sensation still rocks a healthy and active body. Her secrets? Well, here’s what she said in one of her interviews: “The main reason I’ve stayed looking good is that I’ve spent 40 years doing the most intensive stage workouts ever.”

She also said that she’s been following a low-fat diet. She also cuts out sugary foods and eats more protein-rich foods such as chicken, fish, and nuts. Not only that.
