American film and TV actress actress Stana Katic was born on April 26, 1978 in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. She is known to be of Serbian descent as her family came from Croatia. A product of DePaul University Goodman School of Drama, Stana was already inclined to the art of acting when she was younger. It was in the year 2004 when she had her first taste in appearing on television as she played the role Mariella in one episode of the TV series The Handler. Soon after her first performance, she gained another exposures in Alias, L.A. Dragnet, The Shield, and JAG. Meanwhile, she is currently seen in the American crime TV series Castle and is playing the role Detective Kate Beckett.
