Shannan Ponton - celebmarriages_comShannan Ponton is one of four personal trainers on the Australian version of “The Biggest Loser”. Born in the year 1973 in Australia, he made his first appearance during the show’s second season in 2007 wherein he trained the blue team together with Bob Harper. After Bob’s departure during the second week of training, he became the official trainer of the blue team, continuing his role as the blue team’s trainer during the show’s third season in 2008. As he continues to appear on the said show, he has been the blue teams trainer for a total of 6 seasons.


As a fitness trainer, Shannan always takes time to do his exercise routine. He said in an interview, “It takes a lot of determination, willpower and commitment. Quite often we’re on The Biggest Loser set from 6:30am, which means I train at 5am. Even if it’s a 7:30am start I’m up at 5:30am to train – it’s a routine that I’m in. If I’ve got a full day, instead of taking an hour for lunch, I’ll quickly eat, run for 40 minutes, come back, shower, and get back to work. It really is a matter of working around my schedule and not being a victim.”

Now what’s his diet like? “I really watch what I eat on a daily basis. I know what my body needs to measure up to the demands we have put on us. The majority of my meals are almost spot on. I have one ‘treat’ meal a week and I prescribe this to my clients too. If you completely abstain then cracks appear and you overindulge. I also take supplements, I think they’re essential – like an insurance policy to make sure you have the nuts and bolts of your nutrition right. I take Nature’s Way Joint restore with glucosamine, Men’s Energy Multi, Fish oil, Magnesium, and zinc.”
