American actress Shailene Woodley, originally Shailene Diann Woodley, was born on November 15, 1991 in Simi Valley, California, USA. At 4, she was already seen on TV commercials as a model. Eventually when she was 15, she was diagnosed with Scoliosis and had undergone a chest-to-hips plastic brace. Pursuing her acting dreams, she auditioned for several roles and later on landed her first appearances in the TV drama series Without a Trace and The District. It was in the year 2005 when she was nominated for a Young Artist Award. In 2007, she had her first big screen appearance when she was cast for the film Moola. Her series of appearances both in small and big screen brought her lots of awards and nominations which made her become a successful young actress.
As an actress who also portrays roles that exude action, she is necessarily obliged to train fighting techniques. Perhaps this is the reason why her body is really becoming better and better when it comes to shape and tone. According to her trainer Garret Warren, they perform varieties of exercises and fighting techniques. “Shailene and I would do body movements like pushups, chin-ups, dips, squats, lunges, and plyometrics for 30 minutes, then we’d move into fight choreography for 30 minutes: jiu-jitsu, judo, close-quarter combat situations, krav maga, boxing, and muay Thai,” said Garrett.
Shailene also talked to The Women’s Health mag and shared about her healthy lifestyle. “My favorite things in the world are eating and being physically active, which go really well together,” Shailene explained. “I love to hike or bike or swim or workout or do anything physical, and then I love to eat, whether it’s cooking with friends, by myself, going to a restaurant, going to a friend’s house for dinner. Food, food, food, can’t get enough.”
