Noomi Rapace is a Swedish Actress, born on December 28, 1979, in Hudiksvall, Sweden. When she was given a non-speaking part in a film, at the age of seven, she realized that she wanted to become an actress that’s why she enrolled in a Stockholm theatre school at the age of 15. She is best known for her role as Lisbeth Salander in 2009 “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo”, “The Girl Who Played with Fire”, and “The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets’ Nest”, whose performances gained her several awards and nominations. She was also nominated for Teen Choice Award for Choice Movie Actress: Action for her role as Madame Simza Heron in 2011 “Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows”.
To lose some weight for her role in “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo”, she trained in martial arts, including 7 months training with Siberian fitness trainer, focusing on different styles, mostly on Thai boxing and kickboxing. It also involves full bodyweight workouts, kicking routine, punching drills and a lot of combat fight sequences.
She also followed a strict diet for her role, which she described as “No bread, pasta, potatoes, no candy, and no alcohol. All protein and vegetables…”
