Nia Long is an American actress born on October 30, 1970 in Brooklyn, New York. A daughter of Talita and Doughtry Long, she is a product of the Roman Catholic school St. Mary’s Academy. While she was pursuing acting, she learned how to act under the guidance of her acting coach named Betty Bridgess who was also an actress. In 1986, she started to appear on screen and played specific roles including on the TV series 227 and “The B.R.A.T. Patrol”. She experienced her first movie appearance in the year 1990 when she was cast on Gerard Kikoine’s film Buried Alive. She later on made appearances on several flicks including Love Jones, The Best Man, Boiler Room, Big Momma’s House, BAADASSSSS!, The Best Man Holiday, and many others. This year, she appears as Billie Page on the legal drama series The Divide.

The renowned actress is following a healthy, clean, and balanced diet. In one of her interviews, she emphasized the importance of getting rid of sugar from diet. “For Black people, it’s really important that they eliminate sugar and anything ‘white’ from their diet. We have that history of sugar diabetes and anything carb-related turns into sugar. The best thing to do to really have a balanced diet is to try to eliminate it. Rather than eat it every day, eat it once a week,” she explained.
