Australian singer/songwriter, actress and model, Natalie Jane Imbruglia, was born on February 4, 1975 in Sydney, Australia. She is best known for her single “Torn”, which became an international cover and hit, and her debut album, “Left of the Middle”, which sold over 6 million copies worldwide. Both the album and hit single nominated and made her win several music awards including MTV Video Music Awards, MTV Europe Music Awards, ARIA Music Awards, and Billboard Music Award. She appeared in films like “Johnny English” in the year 2003 as Lorna Campbell; “Closed for Winter” (2009); “Underdogs” (2013); and “An Unkindness of Ravens” in the year 2013, as well. In 2002-2006, she became the spokesperson of L’Oreal, and appeared in several TV commercials for the brand. In 2010, she became a guest judge in the reality singing competition, “The X Factor UK” and became a judge on Australia’s version of The X Factor in that same year.
According to Natalie, “I’ve always worked out up to four times a week, but I’m now in supergirl mode, and I don’t reckon I’ve ever been fitter or been able to eat more! I ran 16 miles straight last weekend. It took a lot longer than expected because I had some knee trouble, but I’ve changed my shoes and sorted that out now. Completing that did wonders for my confidence.”
She often incorporates her diet to the type of exercise that she does. She said in one of her interviews, “I worked out that I’d burnt off 1,000 calories after my last run, which is basically half your daily intake. So make sure you’re eating enough. I generally eat well but I’m now eating tons and tons of whole wheat pasta. And the good thing is you can park any worries about ice-cream and chocolate. It’s good for energy. For short 30 minute runs I eat a bowl of porridge and two bananas.” She is also fond of including honey and porridge to her diet.
