Misty Elizabeth May-Treanor is a retired American professional beach volleyball player. She was born on July 30, 1977 in Los Angeles, California, United States to parents Barbara May and Butch May. She is a product of Newport Harbor High School and California State University, Long Beach. A three-time Olympic gold medalist, she is known as the most successful female beach volleyball player with 112 individual championship wins in domestic and international competition as of August 2012.
Now what is Misty’s workout routine? She told Shape, “I try to do something every day. I lift weights at least three to four days per week, and I’ll intersperse that with cardio. For example, on Tuesdays and Thursdays, I’ll run and do heavy lifting, and on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, I’ll spend two hours lifting weights, as well as something like swimming.”
For her diet, she said she keeps an eye on what she eats, but she doesn’t restrict herself to carbs. “People think carbs are bad, but they’re not bad. Your body needs carbs,” she said in a separate interview. She also said that she eats breakfast on a regular basis. “It is really important to eat breakfast in the morning, especially after working out. Whole foods are what your body needs,” she explained.
