It was in the year 1981 when he defeated Joe Cortez in the Junior Olympic Games when he first gained attention. A year after, he was able to knock down Kelton Brown, possessing the Junior Olympic for 8 seconds. His boxing debut officially happened when he was 18 years old. For 20 years, he became the youngest heavyweight champion after knocking out the former WBC champion, Trevor Berbick in 1986. In 1987, he matched James Smith, particularly defending his title in Las Vegas, Nevada. Since then, he had series of fights and he eventually conquered the boxing world with a huge success.

To maintain his already fit and well-built physique, Mike indulges in an almost daily training at the gym where he usually performs 500 triceps extensions, 500 pushups, 500 shrugs, 15 minutes neck exercises, and 2000 squats. These exercises are part of his strength training. Moreover, he runs daily for about 45 minutes, and he does it every 4:00 A.M.

Now here’s his typical diet: For breakfast, he usually eats oatmeal with milk and vitamins. For lunch, he gobbles chicken breasts, rice, and orange juice. And for his dinner, he consumes pasta, steak, and fruit juice. In between meals are protein shake and bananas.
