He started to appear on big screen in the year 2006 when he was cast as Stelios in the American fantasy action adventure film 300. The said film offered him his career breakthrough which led him into portraying more roles in the following years. Other films that he starred were Jane Eyre, X-Men: First Class, and 12 Years a Slave.

To keep his body lean and in good shape, Michael basically follows his exercise routine by which he performs pull-ups, push-ups, dead-lifts, floor wipers, and box jumps. Apart from doing the specific exercises, he also spends time running and doing boxing kinds of exercises.

When it comes to his diet, he usually consumes protein shakes before starting his day. He also includes protein-rich foods to his meals. And what are the foods that he typically avoids? Michael says he doesn’t include foods that are loaded with carbs on his diet. According to him, it worries him that his blood sugar may raise when he’s going to eat those foods.
