Award-winning American actress Meryl Streep was born on June 22, 1949 in Summit, New Jersey, USA to parents Mary Wolf and Harry William Streep, Jr. When she was younger, she already had a huge interest in acting, that’s why when she was in her college days, she decided to study drama in Vassar College and eventually attended at the Yale School of Drama where she earned her M.F.A. While studying at Yale, she appeared on stage plays and portrayed several roles, including in the William Shakespeare’s comedy play A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Her first acting appearance on screen happened in 1977 when she played the role Anne Marie in the film Julia. The same year, she also appeared on made-for-television film The Deadliest Season and played as Sharon Miller. Series of acting opportunities followed her right after her first few appearances on screen. And by then, she regularly received series of acting awards and nominations such as Best actress awards from the Academy Awards, BAFTA Awards, Golden Globe Awards, Primetime Emmy Awards, and many others. Nowadays, she is filming the upcoming British drama film Suffragette where she works with fellow actors Helena Bonham Carter and Carey Mulligan.
During the time when she was playing several challenging roles, Meryl particularly worked her body to come up with a toned and svelte physique. What she did was swim three to four times a week. She particularly clocks up 55 lengths of her pool almost everyday to make up a body that will be hard to ignore.
As for her diet, she said, “I had to go on a little diet. Push that wine bottle away after the first glass. That’s what I did when filming Prada.”
