American actress and singer Melora Diane Hardin was born on June 29, 1967 in Houston, Texas. She is the daughter of Diane Hill and Jerry Hardin. She was first seen on the TV series Police Story in 1976, playing the role Sheila. It followed by her appearance on Thunder, playing the main role Cindy Prescott for over 12 episodes. Gaining more popularity in the industry, she also portrayed a major role on TV series Secrets of Midland Heights by which she acted as Micki Carroll. Eventually, she was seen on various films including Lambada, The Rocketeer, Reckless Kelly, The Hot Chick, and a lot more. She also became known for taking significant roles on TV series Dirty Dancing, Moon Over Miami, Touched by an Angel, Cover Me, Monk, The Office, and Wedding Band.
Melora takes care of her body by staying active all the time, and she usually does it through dancing. “Once a week I take a modern jazz class for an hour and a half,” she told the Shape. “I love the way my body feels when I’m dancing. It builds stamina, keeps me flexible, and makes my muscles long and lean. But it’s also medicine for my soul. When I look at myself in the mirror dancing, creating something beautiful, it’s empowering.”
And when it comes to her diet, she said, “Like many people, I try to stay away from empty carbs such as white flour and sugar, which means I have to read labels carefully. Instead I eat lean proteins, vegetables, and whole grains. But I have to admit I do love cookies and pie, so I indulge occasionally in those that are sweetened with fruit juice or evaporated cane juice.”
