Mary Tyler Moore, born on December 29, 1936 in Brooklyn, New York, is an American actress. She is the daughter of George Tyler Moore and Marjorie. Growing up in Brooklyn, her family relocated to Los Angeles when she was eight years old. Prior to pursuing an acting career, Mary originally planned to pursue a dancing career. It was then when she started to appear on TV commercials when she decided to finally give acting career a go. In the 1960s, she was highlighted on different TV programs and films including Bachelor Father, Hawaiian Eye, Wanted Dead or Alive, What’s So Bad About Feeling Good?, Change of Habit, Ordinary People, Flirting with Disaster, and a lot more. Throughout her career, she also earned lots of awards and recognitions for her significant acting performances including the Tony Award for her impressive appearance on the 1980 production Whose Life Is It Anyway?.
